Via KennyKellogg, I note that Paul Kedrosky describes SoCal exurb Temecula as if it were an Anasazi ruin, as freshly-constructed American subdivisions are "emptying out."
"Don't they know people in Marin will shop at an IKEA if they build one here? It really sucks to have to drive all the way back from the East Bay with a load of furniture in the Prius."
Karl Rove has taken to referring to Dennis Kucinich in a way that seems to imply that he's nuts:

Happy 70th birthday to one of my favorites. Hope he has a happy day -- and more importantly, a sweet Southern Night. His solo performance of that song with extended monologue at the Herbst last summer was among my very favorite musical moments of 2007.
