When to walk away, and when to run
The Gambler gets feisty.
FMFM: Ted Leo & The Pharmacists' "Me and Mia," which has been kicking my arse for weeks. But I just learned this morning who "Mia" and "Ana" are, and now everything is different.
Facing west at the end of the world.
The Gambler gets feisty.

My favorite track from that excellent album...but do tell, who are Mia and Ana for those of us too lazy to look it up?
They are buli-Mia and Ana-rexia.
Lyrics are here. This guy blogged about it too.
A nice TL/Rx article is here. Good interview is here.
Weird and disturbing, huh?
By the way, those nicknames aren't something Ted Leo made up. Here, look. Here too.
I don't know if it's disturbing...more interesting, I'd say. I'd just assumed it was some sort of political song without noticing the lyrics all that much. Now reading those and hearing the song in my mind...pretty damn amazing. That last verse is a killer. I'm now deeply regretting skipping his show earlier this month (I had to get up at 3:30 the next morning). I should've just gone and then not gone to bed.
